Our Traffic Management Design 2 Course (TMD 2) is perfect for students looking to expand their design knowledge to develop traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes in Temporary Traffic Management Category 2 environments; high volume roads.
Entry Requirements: To enrol in our Traffic Management Design 2 Course, prospective learners must meet the following criteria:
– Completion of the RIISS00063 Traffic Management Designer Skill Set for Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads; and
– At least six months experience applying skills and knowledge relevant to the above mentioned skill set in a temporary traffic management workplace; and
– Providing evidence of relevant experience preparing at least 4 different traffic management plan design types (being both approved by a client and successfully used in practice) including pedestrian and cyclist controls, lane closures, and at least one of the following design types:
– – construction sites
– – shoulder closures
– – high speed roads
– – using portable traffic control devices
– – roundabouts
– – public transport interfaces
– – motorways or freeways.

Training and Assessment: The Traffic Management Designer 2 (TMD 2) training and assessment will be carried out through a combination of theoretical learning and practical experience.
The theoretical course will take three days to complete. Following the three theoretical days, students will need to successfully complete a practical assessment with a licenced traffic management company.
The practical (post-course) assessment requirements must be completed for declared Temporary Traffic Management Category 2 roads within 6 months of successfully completing the theoretical component. We offer all eligible students placement with Barleys Traffic Management.
