– Stop/Slow Traffic Control (TC1)
Learn how to manage traffic using signs, stop/slow bats, and authority to control vehicle flow in and around worksites.
– Traffic Management Implementation (TMI1)
Gain hands-on skills to safely implement a Traffic Guidance Scheme (TGS) and set up compliant work zones based on Traffic Management Plans (TMPs).
– Understanding Category 1 Roads
Learn safe practices for lower-speed environments such as residential streets and urban arterials, as per Austroads definitions.
– Real-Time Hazard Management
Handle unplanned events such as emergency vehicle access, aggressive motorists, or equipment failure with calm and compliance.


Pathways After Completion
Once you’ve successfully completed TC1 + TMI1, you’re equipped to:
– Work as a qualified Traffic Controller or Implementer on Category 1 roads
– Progress to TC2 or TMI2 for complex or higher-speed sites
– Become eligible for TMD1 training (Traffic Management Designer) if you want to plan and create TMPs
– Work on civil construction, utility, or council projects throughout Whittlesea and greater Victoria
