Are you ready to elevate your expertise in traffic management?
Combined TC2 TMI2 Traffic Management Course seamlessly integrates two essential skill sets to provide you with comprehensive training and certification tailored for high-volume road environments, excluding freeways. This combined course is designed to be taken at least three months after you complete the TC1 TMI1 Combined Traffic Management Course. This combined skill set equips you with the skills and knowledge required for traffic control and management in Road Category 2 environments.
Skills Covered: Control traffic on high volume roads according to Austroads guidelines, run on-site operations, and implement traffic management plans on high volume roads.
Entry Requirements: To enrol on the TC2 TMI2 Combined Course, prospective learners must meet the following criteria:
TC2 – RIISS00059 Traffic Controller Skill Set for High Volumen Roads
- Completion of RIISS00058 Traffic Controller Skill Set for Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads; and
- At least 40 hours of experience working in a temporary traffic management workplace in a traffic controller role.
TMI2 – RIISS00061 Traffic Management Implementer Skill Set for High Volume Roads
- Completion of the RIISS00060 Traffic Management Implementer Skill Set for Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads; and
- At least one month experience applying skills and knowledge relevant to the above-mentioned skill set in a temporary traffic management workplace; and
- Providing evidence of relevant experience setting up at least 12 temporary traffic management types including high speed roads or high-volume roads, and at least two of the following types:
- Pedestrian and cyclist controls
- Construction sites
- Lane closures
- Shoulder closures
- Night works
- Use of portable traffic control devices
- Motorways or freeways.
Training and Assessment: Our training and assessment will be carried out through a combination of theoretical learning and practical experience. The theoretical course will take two days to complete.
Following the two theoretical days, students will need to successfully complete a minimum of 20 hours of practical experience on Category 2 roads with a licenced traffic management company. Practical assessments will then be completed with BTMT, providing learners with hands-on experience in real-world settings.
