Enrol in our Traffic Management Design 3 Course (TMD 3) and gain the expertise required to develop comprehensive traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes for motorways and freeways.
Entry Requirements: To enrol in our Traffic Management Design 3 Course, prospective learners must meet the following criteria:
– Completion of the RIISS00063 Traffic Management Designer Skill Set for Urban Streets and Low Volume Rural Roads
– At least twelve months experience applying skills and knowledge relevant to the above-mentioned skill set in a temporary traffic management workplace; and
– Providing evidence of relevant experience preparing at least 4 different traffic management plan design types (being both approved by a client and successfully used in practice) including lane closures, high speed roads, and at least one of the following design types:
– – pedestrian and cyclist controls
– – intersections
– – signalised intersections
– – construction sites
– – shoulder closures
– – using portable traffic control devices
– – roundabouts
– – public transport interfaces

Training and Assessment:
The Traffic Management Designer 3 (TMD 3) training and assessment will be carried out through a combination of theoretical learning and practical experience.
The theoretical course will take three days to complete. Following the three theoretical days, students will need to successfully complete two practical assessments with a licenced traffic management company.
The practical(post-course) assessment requirements must be completed for declared Temporary Traffic Management Category 3 roads within at least 6 months of successfully completing the theoretical component. We offer all ligible students placement with Barleys Traffic Management.
